If I get no more problems after this 7.2.0b patch I will release the game as out of the bug testing phase. Please report any errors in this post!

Fixed:
- Black screen not stopping after dinner fixed.
- The priest at the second questpoint is bugged and may not appear in the animation, but it still works and won't break the game. Will be fixed later.
I went through everything and made sure to try as many combinations as possible. There should be no issues with the mayors quest from here on.

Fixed:
- Fixed the bug where the Mayor wouldn't talk to the player after the dinner. (Fucking mayor, any more trouble out of you and I'm editing your story and making you die a horrible death...-.-)
- To fix this problem, load a save from before the dinner and download the latest version of the game - As of this message that is "AloneXP 7.2.0a"
- Fixed teleportation. If it doesn't work for you, just walk around through a few maps. I have placed an "un-unable to teleport" event in all major areas to prevent anything like this to happen again.

- Fixed the caravan, where going anywhere would be hindered by the Fuar option.
- Fixed error where upgrading the great hall would send you to the entrance rather that the next tier of the great hall.
- Added a message when trying to go upstairs from the church saying, if you have not upgraded the rectory upstairs, "There is no way up" to prevent any confusion.
- (NOTE) Tried another solution in trying to fix the error mentioned in 7.1.4
- Fixed throne room. It no longer rains inside when it has rained in the garden.

- Fixed Clair in the Fuar inn going into an eternal loop when not impregnating her.
IMPORTANT: Some of you are getting this error. I might have fixed it, but there is also a chance it is still there. I have absolutely no idea what the hell it is, and I've researched it, but found no clue on what it could be in "Alone"... If it's fixed in this version, CHEERS! If not I'll cry myself to sleep...
A temporary fix is; Save before the map where it happens and try again. It seems to only happen "sometimes" making it even more weird... But hopefully this helps until I can pinpoint a fix, if not fixed already...

So, I went all out after having posted my post yesterday, and completely finished up the main quest and added tons of guards that are based on your summoning to the castle. This means that today I could add maids and then go through the mainquest to fix any bugs I found.
So the game is out for bug testing!
I have to stress that this is an early build that serves only one purpose, to identify bugs so I can fix them
If you want a full version, wait until the bugs have been squashed. If you want to help out, however, then feel free to download this version and tell me if you find any bugs!
Once the release is "bug free" I will officially release it and then add it to the downloads section.
Also, a quick list of stuff I added since yesterday's post.
- Finished the main quest (3 parts)
- Added new guards to the castle.
- Made Maids hire-able from the Chief Servant
- Fixed all errors I could find while going through the main quest.
What I would like you guys to focus on when looking for bugs:
- Clipping through walls. This may be a big problem as there is so much new area in the castle.
- Quest bugs; Somthing that hinders you. Try out the main quest and the newly added sidequests (Check your journal to see just how much has been added)
- Contradictions. If I made anything that made you go "But, isn't that what they just say shouldn't be said?" or something. If you find it, tell me here.
Any bug report you have from the game in this bug testing phase is to be posted in the latest blog post or on one of the forums, not in the bug section.

ReplyDeleteWhen first introducing yourself to the mayor of Fuar, the maid continuously repeats the same lines over and over and will not let you exit the conversation. Game-breaking.
After upgrading everything (except museum:broken exit, so it became trap room and baths: they keep reverting to first stage after leaving room) main staircase got bugged, fortunately I can still go up by church area.

What happened was that the bath instead upgraded the first floor, and that meant that the upgraded command, that when 2 upgrades have been purchased, was moved to ""when 3 upgrades purchased" and so on, but there is nothing at 4 and above :) If it works, that's great ;) Thanks for all the reports! I've been able to fix everything but the error message thing. I have no idea what it is.

- entering the castle entrance from the museum (before upgrades) causes the entrance room to auto upgrade. It returns to normal when re-entering from any other room.

- museum - as previously reported can't leave room after upgrading; also you can wall through almost everything in the room and downstairs
- servant's room - after upgrading staircase in room doesn't work.

Castle:
ReplyDeleteCastle fully upgraded - open the court for session, talked to queen make her mine; After doing thing during the cut-scene when the second family is presenting their gift the game stops progressing. Also, the two representatives of the families are out of place a move up the wall off screen when presenting their gifts.

ReplyDeleteIn the museum fully upgraded, you can walk right through the book cases on the upper floor, not the lower floor, its all good there, anno above me already mentioned the problem with the court, also is the part with the ruined buildings in the pack suppose to have an upgrade. While typing this i remembered that the wall (or whatever that brown hill looking thing is) separating the back yard bath and the back yard path map, the map before the ruined buildings with workers walking around, can be walked through.

ReplyDeleteWhenever I try and save over my old save data an error comes up and the window closes.
I have a couple of questions and possible bugs that I have found first off when Michelle is told that you have a castle where does she and her friends go? If they are supposed to appear than would upgrading the room they appear in affect that? Next like many other people if you upgrade your throne room right away you tend to get bugs with the nobles not going to their proper positions. Finally the only other bug I could find would be some clipping errors where I can walk through walls and stuff.

Michelle and such, are not in yet. There will possibly be an update to have them appear via a Holding Court or whatever. Only thing I can assume.
ReplyDeleteOne final thing, and this is more of a suggestion, can you make an option to turn off the little cha-ching sound every time The farm sends money, It gets kinda irritating and distracting hearing it every few minutes. Again just a suggestion.

That error people seem to be getting has to do with values (like amount of hp you currently have) and it going over the max value possible. It can crash the game occasionally if the engine has too work on a scripted event it seems. Remember seeing it on a forum for another game a while back (dont remember which game though) since it happened a lot in the game. It got a bit better when the game designer changed the scripts a bit.

kobold bones quest, even if i have more than 20 bones, when i try to give them to the npc it says that i do not have enough bones
ReplyDeleteIt would seem the variable which should have been counting the bones was wrong. It was instead affecting the "evil" variable. This, unfortunately, means that your character's evil is no longer amounting to the real evil you've gathered (if any). I will fix it in the next patch, but until then, you should find a certain amount of bones and then go talk to her. The amount of bones you have when talking to her will then set your evil to that. So if you want no evil you should go there with no bones, if you want lots, go with a lot of bones. Sorry for this, ideally you should load a save from before this.

Thank you! It has been fixed. I will wait to see if I can put in a few more fixes, if people find some stuff, and then I will upload it. If you find the "script game_character..." error again, please tell me where you find it. I have found the cause and can fix it if I know it happens somewhere.

and btw i like the update so far nice job on the castle :-) although it seems like the quests which ended in the previous version with a "tell when you have a castle and we will come over" are not yet continued
The news of the mayors daughter comes from the sciencey stuff questline.
DeleteThe crash is having an update uploaded as we speak, and the next patch will be one of the last ones, I hope.
About the "in the castle" quests before, had I had to implement all of those now as well, the release would not have been for several months. None of the quests are "just about to finish" and if I had to finish them I would have needed a lot of new assets on top of the work I had to put in. I decided to release the castle now, as it had a good amount of new content in both the castle and the newly added questlines.

Deletethere is a small bug that can be fixed by simply walking through the door of the church to the hall and going back in the castle, where if you enter the church in the castle and upgrade to max, and go upstair and back it reverse to 1, them you need to exit and enter through the door in that floor never through the stairs.

Deleteit would seem that either you have too much running on your computer or your computer is running too slow for some reason. That's what this post said as I researched it anyway. Try giving a restart a try to clean out your background applications and try and see if it still does it.
some antivirus can be very hard on some low grade video cards, try deactivating it, and closing unecessary programs

ReplyDeleteThey simply haven't been added. Adding them will take A LONG time. I wouldn't have been able to finish for a few months if I had to add everything that needed the castle in previous updates.
DeleteA few contradictions, if you don't choose to sleep with the queen she still says that you did when you decide whether to have her marry you or someone else in your bedroom. Also if you tell the naked woman in Fuar that her wife/husband knows about her cheating instead of having sex with her, she still talks about carrying "your child". Also the caravan from the castle only lets you go to Fuar, and selecting Everlight after going to Fuar gives you the Fuar dialog from the caravan.
ReplyDeleteAs of the most recent build(7.1.9) in Fuar when you have dinner with the mayor and reenter the house. It repeats the dinner scene again and again as long as you continue to go into the house. This and being able to walk over certain scenery in the bath area are some of the major flaws I have seen.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to make most of them "invite-able" or forced. The queen will not live at the castle, she simply visited. Someone like the mayor of Everlight will be the same. There is a guest room, and you can invite someone to stay there temporarily (when implemented). People that aren't highly ranked, and thus have a place they HAVE to be will be able to move to the castle as the Divine's court, living with him at the castle.
